Week Three

Amazon is one of the largest online marketplaces on the web to date. The range of products they offer is overwhelming. Almost anything you can think of you can find and purchase on Amazon.

This site is a fluid one, meaning that it expands to fill the site on an extra large screen, but if the screen is a small to extra small the site just cuts off items from view. Amazon’s home page has a lot going on. There are a lot of advertisements for promoted products, with it being February and all, they have a big push for valentines gifts. Amazon has a menu bar at the top of the screen and it has a hamburger menu in the top left corner. The search for product is an easy one. The products page displays the products from many different angles and the checkout process is an easy.

Instagram is a social media site with a heavy emphasis on images. This website has a simple layout and is easy to use. The color scheme is made up of whites, creams, and black lettering, so that the colors are mostly from the images of the posts you follow. This site is not really a responsive one. It was mostly designed for medium to smaller sized screens. When the website is expanded, Instagram compromises with lots of negative space, that makes the site appear a little awkward. There is not much to Instagram. There is a homepage where the posts from the ones are on display. There is a search bar to look for someone or something specific. There is also the profile page for the individuals posts.
