Week Six:

L'Officine Universelle Buly 1803

Inspired by traditional French beauty, Buly 1803 must have difficult to translate to the internet climate, or the "environweb". They are by far one of the most unique beauty brands. With stores based in the UK, Japan, and France, their website must be universally beautiful, and easily translated. This is one of the two e-commerce websites I've reviewed so far. Generally, e-commerce is clunky, but Buly 1803 did a really lovely job. One the homepage, I like seeing the traditional product "bar", but above it, their locations are listed. Really neat! I like the rollover color animation, the drop down menus, and the non-obstructive pop-ups. There are just enough details when it comes to navigation. The designer strictly follows the "above the fold" principles. For me, this website is just about perfect.
