Week 11

Website 1: Prater's Taters

This is Prater's Taters' homepage

Prater's Taters is a small chain of restaurants consisting of three locations in Paris, Parsons, and Huntingdon, TN. They specialize in potatoes, but they also serve other dishes as well. I personally have eaten at the Huntingdon location, and it's really good food.

At first glance, this website is a lot to take in. There's a background image of one of their "taters," which is responsive and fluid when resizing. Design-speaking, this website uses too many different typefaces, which makes the website look cluttered and tacky. They also have text over images, which can work but in some areas it does not. Their navigation is straight forward, and easy to follow. All of the links utilize the same format which does unify the entire website. This website is response when resizing.

Website 2: Lauren Lowen

This is Lauren Lowen's homepage

Lauren Lowen is an Illustrator based in Nashville, TN. She has worked in projects including editorial, ad campaigns, publishing, and products ranging from greeting cards and stickers to activity books and even kid's luggage. She has taught illustration and design at RISD, Montserrat College of Art, and currently teaches at Watkins College of Art.

This is Lowen's portfolio website, so you are immediately welcomed by her artwork - which is displayed in a gallery style. Her website is clean and modern, which compliments her work. She only utilizes three tabs in her menu, which all are clear and concise. Her website is responsive when resizing. All-in-all, this website is clean, easy to navigate, well organized, and responsive. It is also created using Squarespace.

Website 3: Budweiser

This is Budweiser's homepage

Budweiser is an American-style pale lager produced by Anheuser-Busch, currently part of the transnational corporation Anheuser-Busch InBev.

Because of this being a website advertising alcohol, you are first welcomed by a page where you enter your birthdate in order to access the main website. There is a visual of their alcohol repeatedly playing, advertising their new product. Their navigation menu is to the left side of the webpage; all of the tab are clear and understandable. They utlize their notable colors: red and white. Which appeals to their aesthetic. This website is completely responsive when resizing the window.
